It is one of the most isolated places on earth. The name of the island is believed to come from Sanskrit ‘dvipa sakhadara’, which can be translated with "Island of Bliss."
Socotra originates from the Dragon Blood tree which is the ancient sacred tree that produces the holy mehr such as that given to Christ as baby Jesus by the three wise men along with the frankincense and gold. The shooting star behind the sacred tree brings to the eye the attention of the unusual sky and the red and tones of blues and amber that provoke the question of reality. The diverse colors in the roots of the tree itself elicits mystery, siren, and beauty.
